The Invictus Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women

Laminate, Motorsport, Worktops

As part of HRH developed sporting event for injured service men and women, David Appleby Engineering was approached along with Jaguar Land Rover to develop as part of the foundation, a new race team for the British GT championships that would not just perform to the highest standard, but also be an example to all those injured in the line of duty that anything is possible.

The new workshop facility uses the newest technology of Tuff Touch laminate worktops with anti-fingerprint technology and high scratch resistance which produces an incredibly high-end finish to the worktop. Aesthetically pleasing and incredibly tactile’ the Tuff laminate worktops in Matte Black are extremely robust and durable, but for extreme heavy duty areas of work, we inserted galvanised steel plates into the work surface. An incredible project for a brilliant cause, something we are very proud to have been a part of.

‘The team’s mission is to give WIS servicemen or women the opportunity to experience the adrenaline of competitive racing and inspire others to embrace the ethos of the Invictus Games of triumph over adversity. Thanks to these bespoke cars, the wounded drivers will compete equally with their able-bodied counterparts.’
