The project brief was to renovate and upgrade the electronic workshop. Situated in the heart of the school of engineering, the workshop had solid wood worktops and 30-year-old storage cabinets all set in place by a custom-built workbench leg system. It was the client’s request that we utilised the old workbench legs and provided a solution to renovate and upgrade this space using anti-static work surfaces.

Using our initial quotation and CAD facilities, the department responsible for the project was able to secure larger funding and subsequently added two high end engineering workbenches to the workshop. Working together with our distributor, we were able to incorporate our worktops around the new workbenches and fit them into our initial design. This created a continuous anti-static laminate working surface using the original workbench legs and the two new workbenches. The full workshop included five lockable door cabinets manufactured by us which were supplied with adjustable feet and soft close hinges as standard. Splashbacks were fitted all around the room to connect the worktops to the pre-existing electronic trunking. Five new ESD Neostat soldering mats and earthing points were also supplied to complete the project.
