Eaton Timber Solutions delivered a package of university laboratory worktops to Bolton University, supporting a new phase of development across their STEM learning environments. Each worktop was custom-designed to match the classroom configuration and meet the daily demands of science and technical learning.
Our work was part of a broader installation requiring robust, low-maintenance surfaces. Eaton Timber supplied compact laminate lab worktops engineered for high-frequency use, hygienic handling, and visual consistency across teaching areas.

The project included both fixed lab teaching spaces and classroom demonstration benches. Surfaces were configured for use in chemistry, biology, and multi-use practical zones.

We used an 8mm Trespa Athlon solid laminate on a 30mm MDF core to give an extremely hard wearing surface. We then inlaid steel to allow welding to take place on the same worktop run.
Workstations were created for the students from the same material to give continuity to the design. The result is a functional and professional work area now the envy of other universities.
