Solving a problem was the task in this instance. The workshop in this case study was up and running after a recent installation to our customer’s specification. However, due to the design of the building a 100mm gap was left between the wall and workstations.
Wanting the area to look more aesthetically pleasing and not just functional, we were asked to come up with a solution to hide the gap and to bring the services forward. More light over the work area was also requested.
Our solution was to construct a timber frame which then allowed the back panels to fit flush with the back of the worktop and for the services to be relocated. A top plinth was then added fitted with down lighters providing the additional light and giving the finishing touch.
The work was carried out with minimal disruption and the overall effect was met with great satisfaction.
